"I am seeking to work with a wide variety of agencies, landowners and farmers through this project - in essence anyone who has an impact on land management in the Park area. I see working in partnership in the Park as being the best way of achieving Trust goals and the collective goals of many local people.

"It is clear that much work has already been carried out over the years to support woodland in the Dales and we have certainly spoken to many people whose roles in taking forward schemes have been very positive. Equally however there are many situations where projects have not been completed because the funds have not been available or where that little extra 'push' and motivation is needed to make things happen.

"The spirit of the Trust as a doing organisation comes into its own when we can really make a difference through our work - and a challenge adds spice to the job in hand!

"I am hopeful that we can make a real impact on some of the more threatened areas of woodland in the Park. Those areas which have been grazed but still retain important flora and those areas where land managers have just not had the opportunity of carrying out the work they themselves wish to achieve.
