Jackson helps put Yorkshire Dales in the frame
Famous artist Ashley Jackson has officially launched the campaign to protect the Yorkshire Dales threatened native woodland. Norman Starks, the Woodland Trust’s operations director, says: ”We are delighted to have Ashley’s support for this exciting new project. Our plan is to raise funds to enable us to work with landowners, farmers and conservation organisations to achieve the maximum results on the ground. The work will be varied and range from protecting areas where grazing stock animals prevent the regeneration of trees to the purchase of existing ancient woodlands and the planting of new native trees.” Ashley Jackson has produced an original commission, illustrating one of the Trust woods in Wharfedale. The Trust has produced limited edition prints of this beautiful painting to give to the first 500 people who donate £150 to the appeal. Telephone Project Development Officer Judith Stuttard on 01484 609510 for more information or visit Supporting the Project. The appeal is also supported by The Dalesman Publishing Company who will make a donation for every copy of the lavishly illustrated coffee table book ‘Ashley Jackson’s Yorkshire Moors – A Love Affair’ ordered through this appeal. Telephone 01756 701033 for further details.
If you wish to support the Yorkshire Dales Landscape Project we will ensure donation money will be 'geared up' through the unique partnership agreements of this new project, to maximise the impact of your money in creating and protecting woodlands in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
