Malhamdale is one of the most popular and well visited of the Yorkshire Dales. Lying in the heart of the National Park and famous for the picturesque Malham Cove and Malham Tarn.
Our next site to be planted was at Tranlands Gill - 3 hectares (7.4
acres). This gill is of particular landscape value and initially contained ash, oak, alder, hazel, birch, rowan and hawthorn.

New Woodland Purchase – Preston Spring Wood near Leyburn
Woodland Trust supporter Nigel Holden contributed a generous donation towards the purchase of Preston Spring Wood. He explains ............
Last year, I asked the Woodland Trust for details of ancient
woodland sites that were in particularly urgent need of protection and preservation. Of
the many projects in need of support, Preston Spring Wood stood out as especially worthwhile.
I am proud that my support, given in memory of my late wife has contributed to
the preservation of this most precious asset.
I applaud the Woodland Trust for its mission and commitment. I have found the people I have had contact with to be sympathetic, considerate, friendly
and professional.
My heart felt thanks

We have recently completed a fundraising appeal which has helped us to acquire this beautiful flagship woodland site in the heart of the Dales. |
 |
Preston Spring Wood is a 23-acre woodland With the existing woodland we were also able to acquire just over 8 acres of meadow, which can be used for some additional planting of trees. |
If you wish to support the Yorkshire Dales Project we will ensure donation money will be 'geared up' through the unique partnership agreements of this new project, to maximise the impact of your money in creating and protecting woodlands in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
Because
of the unique partnerships agreements of the Yorkshire Dales Landscape Project in
most cases, every £1.00 donated to the project will result in £3.00
being utilised to protect, plant and manage woodland.

Alternatively, phone our
credit card hotline on 0800 026 9650.
