The Ancient Tree Forum
are determined to see our priceless legacy of ancient trees conserved
for the benefit of all in our society and revitalised for future
generations through the creation of a succession of future ancient
trees.
The Ancient Tree Forum want to see:
- no further avoidable loss of ancient trees through development pressure, agricultural
clearance, mismanagement or poor practice.
- ancient trees properly managed. This will
require research and education in management techniques for ancient
trees and their surroundings.
- development of a succession of future ancient trees, properly identified, protected and managed as
part of a new cultural landscape, in sympathy with modern society
and reflecting our values as well as reflecting those of the past.
- a greater awareness and understanding of the value and
importance of ancient trees.
The Ancient Tree Forum pursue this agenda in partnership with the Woodland Trust and
together we fight cases of ancient trees under threat.
