The Network has funding
available to support the work of Community Woodland groups.
We trialled the Community Woodland group funding project earlier this year and offered
financial support of up to £2,000 to 10 groups that were associated with the Woodland Trust.
The grants are for helping groups with their woodland work. They can be
used for the purchase of tools or training, or for general support support
over the
longer term. Pictured right are the Friends of Stoke Wood with their new
equipment.
The grants were well received and more than £19,000 was allocated. The
groups were involved in a variety of woodland projects around the country and
requested funding for items such as hand tools, safety equipment, protective
clothing and training courses.
One group booked a member onto a wild-flower identification course while another made up tool kits for each woodland
volunteer containing the appropriate tools for the tasks they undertake.
This year we are able to offer grants to a minimum of 20 more groups. If you
