agenda
Woods are crucial to sustaining
life on our planet. They take in carbon dioxide and return oxygen to us. They enhance the
quality of our lives and environment with their richness and biodiversity, their colours
and landscapes. Many species depend totally on woodland for survival. It is surely our
responsibility to protect, restore and enhance our forests and woods in the UK.
Creating new woodland is a
tangible way of marking the passing of the time, a symbol of longevity and
continuity, linking our past with our future.
