The Woodland Trust in London Make sure London’s trees and woodlands get the political support they deserve |

London is selecting its Mayor and
Assembly on 1 May this year and we want to be sure that those in power
support the protection and enhancement of the capital’s wonderful trees and
woodland. So the Woodland Trust and Trees for Cities have teamed up to produce a Manifesto for London’s Trees and Woods which contains eight key recommendations for the candidates to endorse – all key issues for the future of trees in the capital. We are sending this Manifesto to all those with the potential to influence the capital’s trees and woods – a vital resource that makes a very tangible impact on the quality of life for Londoners and everyone that visits the capital. But we are asking for your help to encourage all the candidates to give their support to the Manifesto and to ensure that once in power they do all they can to deliver on its recommendations. From April, you can find all the candidate contact details in a Mayoral address booklet that will be sent to all Londoners on the electoral register and they will also be online at: www.londonelects.org.uk Before then, however, we urge you to contact the four main Mayoral candidates at the addresses below: Ken Livingstone (Labour) - Mayor of London Greater London Authority, City Hall, The Queen's Walk, London, SE1 2AA Boris Johnson (Conservative) - County Hall, Riverside Building, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 7PB Brian Paddick (Liberal Democrat) - 4 Cowley Street, London, SW1P 3NB Siân Berry (Green Party) - 1a Waterlow Road, London, N19 5NJ Please tell them how much the capital’s trees and woods mean to you and urge them to lend their support to the Manifesto. |
