This book records the magnificent tree heritage of Britain and Ireland and is an essential guide to locating our champion trees.

‘We are told where the best specimens are to be found, the grandest, the tallest, those of massive girth, the oldest and rarest in woods, fields, parks and gardens’ Her Grace The Duchess of Devonshire, Patron of the Tree Register.

It lists 3,500 champion trees of 2,020 different kinds growing in the British Isles today. There are lots of lovely pictures of the trees (84 colour photographs).

The book has been compiled by Owen Johnson the assistant Registrar of the Tree Register.
