A lime tree in the village of Bugey
Olivier sent us these pictures of a tree in the village of Bugey near Annecy
and asks if the tree is being managed well.
Ted Green of Ancient Tree Forum says to Olivier: 'Can you please suggest to
the people who look after the tree not to cut any of the small branches that
are appearing on the trunk from ground level upwards. We now say these will
eventually help the upper limbs and the tree itself to find enough energy
from the sun because they will provide more leaf area - at the moment the
pictures show an old tree with very little leaf area.'
